Parterre
interferes freely
in a pre-established programme (theatre, auditorium, conference hall).
Aside
from announcing the piece using the communication devices available to
the
event's producer, the day and location where it will occur remain
confidential
to the last minute - unknown to the producer as well as to the given
host of
the event as well as the audience.
Parterre takes place among
the audience as they are getting settled into their seats. A group of
dancers
slides over the backs of the seats and over the spectators' bodies,
heading
towards the stage. The dancers perform the action the first time
dressed and
the second time naked. The length of the piece depends on the number
and layout
of the seats (about 10 minutes).
The situation plays out the
existence of a temporary public space - the rows of seats. It proposes
to the
spectators an interaction with the work of a dancer, the physical
reality of
his or her body, it also allows them to watch the situation happen to
their
neighbours.
